Allow instructors to select what students can be download. Right now if you give students the ability to download content they can download anything. It would be nice to be able to select what the student can download (e.g., video only, transcript only, notes only).

Hi all, we've marked this as complete because with this week's release we've introduced some Copyright functionality that we believe will solve this. If an Institution Copyright Policy is set up, then users will have the option to enable the copyright for individual pieces of media. As a part of enabling the copyright, users can choose to "Restrict Download" which will prevent all downloads (media & transcript) for students regardless of any other download settings.

Hi Marnie, thanks so much for your feedback! Currently, students can always download their own notes - there's no way to turn this off in the system. Similarly, students can always download the transcript as long as they have completed any embedded polls. Since students have access to the transcript and could always copy and paste it into their own file, we don't do anything to prevent the download of it beyond gating it behind poll completion. The download toggles that instructors have today in Sections are what control the download of the media itself. For embedded content specifically, the same transcript rules apply, however, media downloads are an all-or-nothing feature at the Institution level. Although we are not in a position to incorporate your suggestion into our current roadmap items, we appreciate your input and will keep it in mind for the future. Please continue to share your feedback as it helps shape our product. We also encourage others to add their voices to the conversation by commenting or voting on this idea.

It would also be great for lecturers or admins to be able to choose on the individual embedded media player if they wished students to be able to download the video/transcript. At present we have this off by default, as we have Schools which do not wish embedded recordings to be downloadable by students. In some circumstances lecturers are happy for studlents to download embedded recordings, but this isn't something we can allow currently
