Allow users to turn off Discussion in the video embed

We have students who often use the Echo Discussion button and leave comments which are not monitored as we use Canvas Discussions. There is no way to turn this off at a video or course level, the work around is to embed directly form the EchoVideo app - however, this removes the analytics feature from the instructor view.

I wish this was a player style feature in institution settings that could be toggled

Users now have the ability to toggle off the Discussion feature for individual embeds when using the new version of the Player.

Yes, we have the same issue as Alex and Bryan. At Warwick we use Moodle and focus interaction on the Forum function. So, we cannot monitor comments in the Echo Discussion and would prefer not to misdirect students and comments to it. So, we would support being able to toggle this off or make default to no discussion.

We have the same issue within Brightspace/D2L. Videos are stored in Collections and embedded in self-paced courses that aren't monitored regularly. It would be very useful to toggle off Discussion/Q&A for all media in a Collection.

Due to Echo video in a embedded design becoming more prevalent, it is great to see that data analytics can be accessed per video from the Library media page (analytics tab) without the need of the video to be part of a course section.
It would be great to see the Q&A functionality be an option to enable on a 'per video' basis within a users Library or enable all videos within a Collection to allow discussions to be included on embedded videos that are not part of a course section. The teacher could then manage the discussion from the media page or contribute via the embedded video.
