I am a Chinese student currently enrolled at the Australian National University (ANU) and have been utilizing the Echo360 platform extensively for my studies. During the last semester, I found the platform incredibly user-friendly, especially due to the presence of subtitles on the right side of the screen. This feature was particularly beneficial to me as I was able to use the Monica plugin—an AI assistant—to translate these subtitles into Chinese sentence by sentence. This integration allowed for a seamless experience where I could watch lecture replays without the barrier of language.
The sentence-by-sentence translation also ensured that I did not get stuck on certain terminologies or mistranslations, which would otherwise consume a significant amount of time. However, since the recent update to the Echo360 platform this semester, I have encountered a frustrating issue. When attempting to use Monica to translate the subtitles, the Chinese translation now overlaps with the original English subtitles, rendering them unreadable. This has been quite disheartening.
I have attempted alternative methods such as downloading the subtitles and translating them into Chinese, but this workaround is not only inefficient but also lacks the convenience of having the subtitles scroll synchronously with the video playback.
I suspect the problem may be related to changes in the website’s front-end, although I am not entirely sure of the specifics. I am using the Microsoft Edge browser, and this issue has been a significant impediment to my learning experience.
It would be immensely helpful if your team could look into this issue and update the platform to restore compatibility with the translation functionality of the Monica plugin. An update that would allow for the proper display of translated subtitles without overlap would greatly enhance my and other non-English-speaking students' ability to learn.

compatibility of monica -part2

Thank you very much for updating to fit with monica, now echo360 is able to be compatible with monica in most situations! But there's still a little problem that while I using monica to watch recordings, the browser constantly crushed by "out of memory", it depends on luck, sometimes it could be after watching for 10 minutes, and sometimes it could be 3 minutes. It's not a vital problem like I cannot use monica at all before, but it's still kind of barrier. Btw, I always use 2x speed to watch, it might has bearing with the browser crush. I tried chrome and edge, my os is windows11, my memory has 128GB and the "out of memory" bug never happened in the old echo360(when I only have 32GB memory), so I'm pretty sure it's some sort of bug instead of a true out of memory.
Thank you for your patience and help, I really appreciate your help last time!❤️

PS: The problem is easy to happen when I paused the recording and leave, and after a while I came back to resume playing the vedio, it's nearly 100% possible to replicate the occasion. The play button would be unclickable and the page would crush.
