Courses to Folders Migration Tool
in development

EchoVideo currently organises educational content using a course/section structure. A new folder-based structure option is being introduced to provide alternative organisation capabilities.
I request for the echo team to develop a migration tool that allows admins to:
- Convert existing course/section structures to the new folder-based structure
- Clone existing courses to create folders while preserving the originals (backup)
Both structure types (course/section and folder-based) will exist. Without a migration tool, users would need the links to the old structure and new folders, which would be time-consuming and error-prone, especially for Moodle 1.1 and 1.3 integrations.
- Reduces friction for users wanting to adopt the new folder structure
- Preserves user workflow in existing course content
- Supports gradual transition based on user readiness (optional)
The Ask:
- Users can convert or clone existing courses with minimal effort
- All content and organisation are preserved during content migration/conversion.
- The process is intuitive and requires minimal technical knowledge
