New video player settings

New video player has a lot of black padding/framing around the video itself that the old player did not have. Is there a way to change the settings in the player viewing window to remove that padding/frame?

Fixing this would be great, especially for content that's added using the Easy Embed button. Using the default smallest player size, the video itself is
miniscule
compared to the video player itself.Chris Patrone
Thank you all for bringing this to our attention. We've received your feedback regarding the black padding/framing around the new video player. Our team is actively working on correcting this issue to ensure that the video content displays optimally across all devices.

When in full screen mode the scrubber bar covers the bottom of the video blocking texts and graphs.

Yes, please fix this. Compared to how Youtube does embeds this looks unprofessional.

It also affects the view on smaller devices - all that padding remains and makes the viewing of an embedded video in content impossible.
Yes, the user can just go to full screen mode and watch the video on their device, but I guess the point is the player could also remove that padding and display the video more responsively on small screens - negating the need for students further action just to watch a video.

I agree - this needs to be fixed. It's also not good for accessibility. Video content should fill the entire player for maximum viewing experience.

Even with a better match of the aspect ratio on the iframe and video, there is still lots of black space top and bottom.

I cannot agree more, the legacy player did fill the screen. Remove the padding please.

WHY??? (specifically affects the embedded player) The old player did not have all the extra black space. So instead of a 640px wide video, now it's 420, and even when maximized, it doesn't fill the screen. So again, WHY??? (Note: this video previously filled the player space and thus was used as an example in the new player. It was recorded at 1280x720. Let me know if you need proof.)
