Please provide the option to return to use the previous version of EchoVideo.
The latest update is hindering my ability to learn and rewatch class lectures. Some issues include:
- There is a consistent lag that occurs while the video plays every few seconds. There's also a lag between clicking any buttons, such as changing the settings or pausing/starting the video. Both delays are significantly noticeable. This issue never occurred before and is extremely inconvenient.
- The transcript is not available when opening Echo360 in a separate window on PC. Also, when viewing the video on our school website portal when the transcript is available, the transcript font is smaller than before the update, which makes it harder to follow the lecture.
- The setting bar containing the pause/start/setting control now overlaps the video. It covers a considerable amount of the lecture video. It would be better to keep the setting bar separate/always present and not disappear from the screen like it was before.
- Google chrome extensions that allows adjustments to speed videos no longer work (I use this so I don't have to manually change the speed every time I open a new lecture).
That being said, I request an option to return to the previous version of EchoVideo or make the following changes to make the user experience better. It was simpler, faster, and easier to use than this updated version.

Please include a sliding scale speed toggler that allow us to speed videos up to 4.0x.

I agree, the prior version was easier to use!

Hi, Katie: In addition to fixing the above, we also have an option to toggle the new player (and any player dependent features such as quadravision) on/off for institutions coming in the next release. We are targeting next week for the release and will communicate timeframe when items have passed QA.

Kathryn Stewart Our institution would like to keep what we have as we have put time in promoting, showing, and training faculty on the new Player. Can the engineers just fix the above? If other universities aren't ready to use it maybe a toggle in the institution settings could be applied where admins could turn it on? I seem to remember the new EchoPlayer was going to be employed by August this year anyway.
