Ability to set an access expiry date on share links

It would be useful, when generating a share link to an Echo video (either public, private or otherwise) to also have the option to set an expiry date when the share link will no longer work. That way, academics do not need to worry about retrospectively removing access for people at a later date and setting reminders to do so - this will happen automatically at the specified time.

This feature would be very helpful and would facilitate better control over our content!

I would like to have the expire feature for public links also. I would like to see this happen but be able to do it by link. So we share seminar links and I would like to be able to say they only have x many days to watch that link so it is not out there forever.
We also share links from courses for those local Veterinarians to help with renewal of their licenses. So another reason that it would be nice to be able to set a date on the links themselves to expire. Maybe even make it a bulk option!

Was just wondering about this request! :) As it is being considered I would like to know if there will be a good way to view the links and easily see which ones we may want to "close". I have had to make all of my links public as we have guest students that are not part of our university and in order for them to view the videos I had to keep all public. I know this will be a lot of cleanup someday so some way to get a report of public links that are NOT connected to a course would be nice.

Please add this feature or consider adding availability dates much like you can set in an EchoVideo section class media.

Hannah Petty: This is something that we at K-State would love to see also. I am good with either the institute determining a cut off date, or being able to select from a list i.e. 30 day, 60 day etc. Also is there a way to run a report on public links so if this feature gets set we can go back and break those links?

Hi Johnny, thank you for your feedback and your great idea. We are always looking for ways to improve our product and your suggestion sounds very interesting. Unfortunately, we are not able to work on it right now due to our current priorities, but we will definitely keep it in mind for the future. Thank you for being a loyal customer of EchoVideo, and we hope to hear more from you again soon!

Adding to this we've had this request from faculty. Please allow expiration dates for public links. Microsoft has ability to set expiration dates when sharing files through OneDrive/Sharepoint, our system admin controls the duration at our institution; 30 days. Adding expiration dates to a public link would be similar to what is already available when setting the availability settings for a class. The functionality is already there, we are hoping that this is being a considered feature.

Is it possible to add a feature where an access link will automatically expire after a given time (similar to publishing)?
I have had a client who has advised that presenters they make captures for sometimes request that a link be available for a specified duration. Rather than having to set a personal reminder to remove the link manually, i think it might be better to have the option to set an automatic time-out of links.

Hi - this would be very useful for us as it would allow us to provide public links to external clients
