Student Video Assignments - Ability to share a link

We currently have enabled the ability for students to share locked down video assignments via an LTI integration in D2L, using the Insert Stuff feature.
When students submit a video assignment via the non-secure link that staff use, students are able to choose to share a link rather than the actual media, or choose the size of embedded media.
These options don't exist when students are directed to use the locked down secure integration.
This limits the options for staff determining their preference for marking student video assignments. This is particularly the case with large cohorts (over 500 students) where ideally staff would prefer for students to share a link rather than embed the media, due to the lengthy load times. The requirement is still that the linked media can't be updated or deleted once submitted.
Our request is that the options to choose the size of the media embed or the ability to share a link are added to the locked down video assignment functionality

Hi Echo,
We've just had this impact a unit with 800+ students all submitting video assignments. At present they are trying to embed the recordings which is creating load time issues. We haven't yet started to receive the complaints from staff as they wait for the embeds to load before marking the student submissions.
This really seems like a bit of a bug given that if we were using the non-locked down link the students would be able to submit by adding the link to the D2L assignment dropbox. Obviously this comes with other issues.
It would be great if you could give us any updates as to when this Canny may be considered for all of us D2L customers.
Thanks,
Anne
