Upload and replace video

It would be so handy if we could upload a new video to replace an existing one "in place", so that all existing embeds and shares reference the new video.
This would be incredibly useful to fix errors in videos (that can't be fixed with the online editor) without having to track down all the places it has been published in an LMS (think welcome videos, LMS walkthroughs, etc etc).

It would be extremely convenient to be able to replace a video with a new version — to correct an error or allow faculty to update a lesson. As it is now, any corrections require a new upload, and then we have to update the embed codes everywhere the video has been used. This is not only time-consuming but may also lead to some courses not being properly updated.

Hi, Cari: We are working towards being able to update media without affecting links. Currently, we have it slated for Q4 of this year.

Kathryn Stewart - Will we still have to keep an original track? Currently you are not able to completely replace videos, either one original audio track or one original video track is needed. We my media team needs the ability to completely replace videos.

Hi Nita Travis we are still working on the ability to replace the original audio and/or video track. I am continuing to monitor this thread for feedback and will use this to keep you informed of progress.
With kind regards,

This feature would be incredibly useful and is a must-have in a video platform.

Hi Jacob, we appreciate your input and will keep this in mind for the future.
I know it's not ideal, but what you could potentially do as a workaround is use the online media editor to trim the original video down to just a second or two at the end and then insert the desired media at the beginning. This would result in the new video 'replacing' the old one in all the embeds and shares with just a second or so of the old video at the end.

Hannah Petty --that is NOT an ideal work-around. Please consider this further. It is something we were able to do on our previous platform (Ensemble) and sorely miss it!! We have links that instructors re-use, but do not actively update, so the ability to update the media without updating the link is important to us.
