This is my annual Canny comment to please, PLEASE, update the player to a modern experience.

STILL, the UI jumps around when mousing over, creating empty space (I am aware of lock overlays). STILL, the UI doesn't gracefully fade away and get out of your way when in use. Still, the player experience is subpar to almost any and all streaming video provider (YouTube, Vimeo, Netflix, heck the Microsoft Sharepoint player looks and feels nicer, which is a damning comparison!). Still there is a giant white bar below any embed showing extra controls for some reason, rather than including it in the player UI itself.

Your player is THE single biggest way students (and often staff) interact with the product, and it, in my opinion, does not reflect well on the company. It's clunky, not overly user friendly (especially when embedded in an LMS), and functions like a player from a decade ago.
