The current way the audio settings work seems as if it was designed to deliberately cause problems: A user can't have default settings, so the audio source must be set before EVERY SINGLE recording. The audio source (unlike the video sources) is NOT LABELLED on the main recording screen, so it is easy to not notice it is set incorrectly. NO WARNING is given when a recording is started and there is no audio input being recorded. As a result, it is all to easy to discover after class that the recording of the class session has no audio. Please fix this. Addressing even one of the 3 points above would help: Allow users to have default settings, so they only have to pick the source once at the beginning of the term. Add the name of the audio source to the main recording screen. Pop up a big message when a user starts a recording with no audio input.

Please allow the option to Play/Pause the video when you press the Play/Pause button on your keyboard. When I press the button, it does not play/pause the video. I have to manually click the video to pause it with my mouse. This makes it difficult to quickly stop the video and take notes while watching. Thank you.

I have a number of videos which I have recorded and then edited through the online interface. If I then "copy media" to make a new version of the material (e.g. to edit it differently for the following year) then the edits are not preserved. This makes the feature essentially useless.

Any plans to release a 360 degree feature that would support ‘tours’? We use a tool that allows us to mark-up 360 degree photos so that we can give students the ability to ‘tour’ the campus virtually, find out what’s in different rooms (and individual cupboards).

Can the analytics be provided in the order of dates of presentation of the Echo Videos in the LMS?

It is possible to ingest 360° video via external media ingest but there is no support currently for 360° video capture with Echo360 appliances or Universal Capture. A need for this has arisen at an Echo360 institution. They are already capturing 360° video but this must be manually uploaded and published. Some scenarios where 360° video is used: Open days, conferences, active learning forums, round table discussions, virtual performances, virtual labs, marketing, alumni interviews, virtual courtroom The specific camera being used is a Ricoh Theta Z1 via the Ricoh Theta UVC driver

The 360 video has keyboard control, but it's very clunky. I’d love to see an optional control icon that allowed the user to use the keyboard more intuitively. Esc – exit keyboard control. Arrow keys – to move around the video view perspective. Home/Space/Enter – to center the view back home.

Has any development been made in supporting 360 degree cameras and playback. I know ther was a request a few years back but haven't seen any development in the field and the request looks to be closed. I know our veterinary, engineering and medical school have cameras they use. Due to the covid and blended learning situation becoming the norm, I can see the use of these type of cameras to be on the uptake especially for practical sessions. but Echo is not able to deliver any of this material.

EchoVideo does not currently support the GoPro native .360 video format. This is the format that 360 degree GoPro cameras save natively to local storage. The .360 file extension is rejected by our file picker If the .360 file is renamed to .mp4 the file picker accepts the file. Their workaround is to export the media as .mp4 from GoPro proprietary software. When this is done, the .mp4 is NOT rotated 90 degrees, in other words, the media is processed in the expected way

I'd like to be able to add a 360 video to a capture I've already done. ie: Recorded a Zoom meeting or a upload a UC capture, then later add a 360 video to the second video track.
